Having Fun with Free Motion Quilting

I'm a big fan of Leah Day's Free Motion Quilting project.  I bought a special quilting foot for my Bernina 330 at Sanford Sewing Machine and took a Free Motion Quilting class.  It's a cheater panel and I just stitched around the design to start.  After I got it home and worked on it some more, I made an oops because I don't like to use pins when I sew and I had removed the pin at the outer edge.  Unfortunately I didn't notice the backing fabric had folded back on itself. so I had to rip out some stitching.

Linking up with Leah Day's Free Motion Quilting Project.  Hope you all had as much fun as I did!

  1. This is my first blog post. I've much to learn, but still, I'm happy with this beginning.

  2. Cheater panels are great to FMQ on! And who hasn't had an edge flip over? I know I have! TFS

  3. The cheater panel is great for practicing because you see results right away. I love the pattern on this one. When I'm done quilting I'm going to add beads.
